How To Turn A Simple Crate into a Side Table

A few years back I was at an Estate Sale in South Pasadena and I came across some awesome items in the tool shed.  One of those being a very sweet old cobblers table, with a few missing legs that I automatically knew I would turn into a coffee table.

But you see everything came in a lot, so I was forced to take a couple of other things including this really cool box crate thingy.  Its served a few purposes around the houses like storing DVD's and as an umbrella stand, but it never really found its ultimate purpose.  That is until I needed a side table to go between my Cane Chairs and my brain went ding, ding, ding!  Lately I've been really obsessed with Hair Pin legs so I decided to grab some over on Etsy.  I couldn't help myself for $8.00 each.  Hairpin legs + cool crate thingy = Awesome side table.  The project was super easy.  I just screwed the legs into the crate and that was it.

And no I do not usually wear my Anthropologie clothes while working on projects, but this particular project required no special outfit.

I just love the way it turned out.  I might even be inspired to paint my living room now (Can you tell it needs it?).  Now if you don't have a random vintage box, you can just make one yourself by screwing together pieces of 1 x 12 board.  It is a very simple project.  I only know that because that is how I made my shoe rack in my closet.

Now I have a great little table in the center of these Cane Chairs I picked up not to long ago.  Oh and if you must have my World Pillow Covers you can pick them up for next to nothing on Amazon .
