How to Get Rid of Pesky Mosquitos With Natural Products

It's summer time, usually I'm good with that because it means going to the Beach, Family Vacation, BBQ's, and lots of swimming.  However, one of the things I hate most about Summer are the mosquito bites. So I'm going to teach you how I prevent them without using chemical based repellents, and also how I stop the itching when it's too late and they already bit me.

What I use is this handy dandy essential oil blend called Nature Shield by Plant Therapy.  It's very easy to use and very economical.  I use a 2oz spray bottle, usually recycled from another product I finished up and fill it with good old witch hazel that you can pick up at any drug store.  I then add about 10-20 drops of the essential oil blend and shake.  Then I just spray the heck out of myself when I am exposed to mosquitos.

Now what do I do if I forgot my spray, or its too late and those little critters already got me?  This is where I use old fashioned bar soap.  The one I use is from Trader Joes, but you can use any kind like Ivory soap or whatever else you may have on hand.  You just spritz or wet the bar of soap and rub it on your bites, and viola!  No more itching!  Other things that work are using a paste made out of baking soda and water or a white toothpaste.

So there you have it, instead of worrying about pesky mosquitos in the summer.  Enjoy the hot dogs, hamburgers, a tall glass of lemonade, or an ice cold beer instead.
